Locomotive Ghost is thrilled to present Ghost to Coast: Ocean 2 Ocean Community Benefit at The AREA on Saturday, April 21st.

This spring Ben Nixon will be involved in a group, called Ocean 2 Ocean, which will be bicycling from Tofino to Halifax to highlight and embrace positive community action as well as sustainable life choices. Throughout their travels, the group will be discovering, teaching, documenting, and supporting a number of the amazing community initiatives that illuminate our country. Their adventures will largely consist of environmental discovery, lengthy physical challenges, public outreach, and hands-on volunteering.

Ghost to Coast: Ocean 2 Ocean Community Benefit is a multi-faceted, all-ages event that will raise funds for necessary equipment and financial support, and enable Ben to be a part of this incredible project.

In addition to supporting Ocean 2 Ocean’s community-minded journey, the Ghost to Coast event will spotlight rarely seen elements of Calgary’s own artistic community. The night will feature music from modern-folk acts, Ram Hoss, Laurene, and Locomotive Ghost, as well as visual art from teen-aged Calgarians, Mary Sanche and Reid Paulhus. In keeping with one of Ocean 2 Ocean’s focus areas of connecting through food, the night will also include on-the-spot meals, desert catered by Chef Kat, and drinks from Alberta-based brewers.
